We’ve just purchased a new four bedroom home and before we move in we would like a system installed so that we can all listen to our own music around the home.
The client, a family of five, currently had music on various computers and apple macs plus iPods and a CD collection.
They wanted to be able to play any music regardless of where it was stored in any room or sometimes in multiple rooms during a party. The rooms included all four bedrooms, the lounge, kitchen, dining room and garden.
A cost effective package was produced based on the NuVo Grand Concerto music system which included in-wall keypads in the rooms with a wireless controller for the garden. Current Audio in-ceiling speakers in each room and a pair of exterior speakers were included.
The NuVo Music Port server was key to the solution as it consolidated the family’s digital music collection from various iTunes libraries and Windows Media Player libraries around the home. A dual DAB radio tuner was also specified. This meant the family could play six different “streams” of music whether it be from their own music collections or radio stations at the same time.
At any one of the in-wall keypads or wireless remote any one of the family could select their favourite music by artist, album or genre and listen to it through hi-fi quality ceiling speakers. During parties rooms could be grouped together and the same music played to guests.
A NuVo iPod docking station was also included so friends could “dock” their iPods and the music stored on the iPod would be available in any room
